FASO is seeking support for a defined transition from internally tested Version 1 system to independently controlled evidence, governance development and conditional pilot readiness.
Immediate validation bridge
£150,000 to move from internal system evidence to independent challenge.
The bridge is intended to support validation design, secure evidence preparation, prototype hardening, statistical analysis, security review, intellectual-property and data-governance work, and independent reporting.
Funding boundary
Funding enables the test. It does not purchase a finding.

- No private ownership of public-interest evidence
- No automatic authority over later scaling
Conditional scaling
£600,000–£1 million only after positive independent evidence and separate authority.
A later first-scaling phase is not part of the immediate validation decision. It would require evidence, governance, scope, security and institutional readiness to be assessed again.
Evidence condition
Independent findings support progression and disclose material limitations.
Governance condition
Appropriate institutional authority, conflicts controls and publication independence are established.
Operational condition
Pilot scope, security, data, staffing, burden and stopping conditions are defined.
Separate decision
No validation grant or early interest silently authorises scaling.
What a funder should examine
Fund the public-interest case only after examining the weakness as well as the promise.
FASO should provide access to the prospectus, current evidence position, governance boundary, risks, use of funds and the conditions under which the proposition should stop.
