Practical information

What FASO is, what is complete and what comes next.

A concise public guide to purpose, status, evidence and engagement.

Purpose

A proposed public-interest observatory.

FASO is being developed to support transparent, evidence-bounded observation of advanced artificial-intelligence systems over time. It is not a regulator, certification body or operational authority.

Current status

Internal assurance completed; external stages outstanding.

Version 1 and the complete Test Rig have completed governed internal assurance. Independent system validation and institutional challenge remain outstanding. No operational pilot is claimed.

Evidence

Public claims stay within their evidence boundary.

Internal assurance, independent validation and operation are separate states. Public material identifies status, supported outcomes, limitations and correction history without exposing protected validation procedures or internal implementation details.

Participation

Public routes are temporarily unavailable.

FASO is reviewing the authorised recipient, handling arrangements and retention terms for public and reviewer correspondence. Working routes and an updated privacy notice will be published together before enquiries reopen.
